Our History

In November, 2004 three brothers (Louis, Jesse & Chester) in the Alonzo and Lola Abernathy family had a dream of making their own tractor pulling sled for our families to use and have fun with.  It wasn’t long that other family members joined in the excitement.  The first Saturday in January, 2005 the men of these families began working on a sled at Louis Edward Abernathy’s, the oldest brother, shop at Fiske Union. This work continued each Saturday but on March 4, 2006 Louis Edward went home to be with his Lord.  The sled then became a must for the family.  We have had yard sales, auctions, and other activities to raise money for “the sled”.

Thanksgiving weekend 2006 as many of the Abernathy family as possible met in Chester Abernathy’s (the youngest brother) pasture for our first pull.  We had a lot of fun teaching the wives and children how to drive the tractors and to pull the sled.  It was a very good day for all. On March 10, 2007 the dream became a reality.  We hosted our very first Tractor Pull at Rayville, La.  The hard work of the Abernathy families was realized in a very successful day.  The sled worked well, the families had a good time working and playing together and everyone remembered how much fun and pleasure this day would have been for Louis Edward Abernathy.

One of the sisters, Betty Wink, had property on corner of Hwy 879 and Wink Rd in Oak Grove, LA.  We started having our tractor pulls there in 2008.  Slowly but surely we have upgraded our Pull Site.  The latest phase is bathrooms which were ready for May, 2011.
